Two New DIY Projects Added!

Have you had a chance to check out our super-easy DIY Projects? DIY Projects are YCL volunteer activities you and your Youth Player can do on your own time. You simply look for a DIY project on the member calendar (they’re sprinkled around for your convenience) and download the project parameters. Execute the project, deliver the project to the charity partner, then manually enter your hours. Each DIY project is worth 3 hours of volunteer time for each participant.

Our two new DIY projects are for NW Pilot Project and Ronald MacDonald House.

Here’s what you do in a nutshell:

For NW Pilot Project we are making care kits for at-risk seniors transitioning into their own independent living arrangements. You can choose from comfort kits, cleaning kits, kitchen kits or bedding kits. You put together a set amount of kits and coordinate delivering the kits with the charity’s contact. Find out more here!

For Ronald MacDonald House we are making soft “lovey” blankets for infants and children who are staying at one of the Houses while receiving hospital treatments or visiting a sibling receiving treatment. YCL members create two handmade blankets and deliver them to either of the House locations. Find out more here!

Look for these two DIY Projects and our other DIY Project for Northwest Children’s Outreach as part of your holiday giving plan!

Here’s what one YCL member family said about doing a DIY Project for NW Children’s Outreach: "The timing is perfect as we are headed over to Black Butte for the weekend and need an activity if it’s raining.  AND my kids have seen the need at NCO so it’s a great fit."
