Meet Middle School Bracket Coach Heidi!
Youth Charity League has recruited Heidi Dunahugh as Bracket Coach for our Middle School Youth Player Bracket.
Heidi is a Portland native and graduated from the University of Oregon. She worked for Intel before embracing a full-time role as major mother role model and chauffeur to two busy boys. You can find the Dunahughs outside in all kinds of Oregon weather – skiing in the winter and camping in the summer. Heidi and her husband, Brian, are avid runners. They’re even tightening up their laces for Hood to Coast this summer.
Despite their busy lifestyle, the Dunahughs recognize that finding time to give back is an important part of raising socially aware and compassionate kids. “Our family gets so busy with our own schedules, it’s easy to forget there are so many amazing organizations that need help. But I think it’s important – especially for kids – to spend time working for, and thinking about others. It gives them an understanding of how to prioritize what’s truly valuable, in addition to a deep sense of accomplishment. When I heard about YCL last fall, I signed our family up right away,” explained Heidi.
There’s still time to join Heidi and other like-minded Portland families as YCL Founding Members. Commit this week to raising socially conscious children and join us for our New Member Kick-Off Party, hosted by our Youth Council on Sunday, June 3.
